I’ve been published since 2007 – and have written over 40 books. When I had my first submission accepted (after years of rejections), I was so happy. The publisher was Ellora’s Cave and we all know what happened to them. After they closed I had 17 stories to revise and reformat, that needed new covers.
Then Samhain closed – adding another 8 books to my list of those I had to work on.
Since the beginning of January, I’ve been slogging my way through them and because I’ve not read any of them since they winged their way from my laptop, it was almost fun to revisit old friends. The 8 MMs with Samhain were the easiest to deal with though I lost one cover I loved for Cowboys Down. Samhain’s were most recent books so needed the least amount of work, though I did add an epilogue to With or Without Him and corrected errors where I spotted them.
I’ve now only 2 books left to republish, plus a few short stories. I don’t think I’ve ever worked so hard in my life as I have these last few months but the end is in sight and I can finally think about my next project. But having reread my older stories, I see what a
journey I’ve been on and how much my writing has changed. Hopefully for the better!
